This week’s highlight
Time Is a Flat Circle
Why the Loop Is the Point
by Bibek Rana / Mr B
This is a trailer, not the full book — a short opening from an original idea by Bibek Rana, with diagrams and a practical how-to: how to break an old loop and train your brain to predict what you actually want.
The idea in one line
Time is a flat circle: lived time repeats — habits, days, seasons, thoughts. There is no automatic higher floor. How you walk the loop is the entire game.
You do not overwrite a prediction by wanting. You overwrite it by doing the new action at the same cue, repeatedly, until that action becomes the cheap default.
No one knows all the truth. We explore, we learn, we correct ourselves.
Some ideas in the paper are metaphor and personal speculation; where it draws on neuroscience (predictive processing, habits, attention, Hebbian wiring), it says so. The downloadable PDF is the paper.
